While in Mexico City, a fan asked Curtis if she would be open to doing a Freaky Friday sequel, shown in a fan-captured video shared by Entertainment Weekly. In response, Curtis said, “Freaky Friday remake? Absolutely.” She also revealed that she and Lindsay Lohan, who played her daughter, Anna Coleman, in the film, are still very close. Curtis told the audience: “Lindsay Lohan and I are friends… Lindsay Lohan and I text. She texted me the other day, she’s in Ireland making [her new Netflix movie Irish Wish].” Apparently, even though they keep in contact, Curtis still occasionally tests Lohan to make sure it’s really her. She said that Lindsay texted her from Ireland with the simple message, “Hi Jamie, It’s Lindsay,” to which Curtis said, “Yeah? Prove it.” Curtis explained, “I test the people to make sure it’s not a phishing scam,” before sharing the way she used to test Lohan, asking her what song they tried to learn the rap of while on the set of Freaky Friday. The answer? “Like I Love You” by Justin Timberlake. But now that the public knows the answer, Curtis said, “We have to come up with a new one.” Obviously, Curtis loves her co-star from Freaky Friday, but she also really enjoyed the process of making the 2003 film. She told Entertainment Weekly, “Freaky Friday was a fabulous movie, also very freeing creatively. You know, being a teenager again, it was super fun. I had a good time with Lindsay. She was terrific.” Unfortunately for fans of Freaky Friday, there isn’t any official sequel in development yet, but at least we know that the stars would be down for it if given the chance!
